quoteYes thero, there has to be evidence. But how come there has been several examples of INNOCENT accounts being banned, just to be unbanned a week later because they banned before looking into anything. And there most certainly has been some of these cases, im not saying a whole lot, but there have been some./quoteOk, let's consider this scenario. I have somehow scammed/stolen gear from Nelly. You are a GM - you get a ticket from her explaining the situation. Do you:(a.) spend the time investigating the theft - all the while I am unbanned and have the opportunity to trade on/sell the item - in which case, it might never be recovered.(b.) temporarily block the account for the duration of the investigation to be sure - an inconvenience, yes, but it can actually save someone's lost items.quoteIf people are hacking in marduk, we players have no way of proving that to the team. They have to take the matter into their own hands and actually do something about it.
I can't go over to someone i know is hacking, asking them if i can join their group so i can record them./quoteI have ideas on this, however I am not at liberty to discuss them here. In cases like this where players are selling an unrealistic amount of Marduk items - send their names to the GM team to be investigated. Trust me, your tickets will not be ignored.quoteSecondly, i agree, some things would indeed still be happening even though the GMs were active. But other things would not.

Hackers has a huge influence on the average plus in the server, making it harder for new players to get into the game at later stages./quoteWhat exactly do you mean here? They are upgrade hacking? I'm not clear on what you mean.quoteMy main question is how come other servers are doing a million times better job in keeping the hackers at bay?.de as an example, you won't get through a lot of hours there as a hacker without being banned. Which is why people don't even bother trying there in the long run. I know, and witnessed someone(The same person), hacking on this server for approx 6 months without getting perm banned. (He might be now, but he for sure wasn't banned 2 weeks ago)./quoteFrom what I understand, the servers are managed by their teams in effectively the same ways - so the.de server players would have to provide some evidence the same as here in.uk - more players that could potentially record you = high risk, low reward environment?quoteOur population is so extremely small, it is one of the smallest servers out there.
If we're unable to deal with hackers now, i don't even want to think about what would happen if a larger population ever was merged to this server./quoteAgain, like I pointed out above - more players = more chances of being reported, simple as that.quoteLike i said, i'm on the game most days. I can see things, and i'm fairly sure that a lot of people are thinking the exact same things i'm saying, even though they do not post it. Some people have even gone as far as joining in on the hacking as they see it as a much easier way out than playing the game in a fair way./quoteIf you see hacking, try to get evidence - fraps/screenshot - whatever you can and report it if possible. If not, make others aware of the hacker, perhaps they will catch him the next time - and don't be afraid to report to the GM team, even without evidence - it will bring the hacker to their attention and if they do hack when a GM is on, they are more likely to be caught.I hope this kindof clears things up a bit.
'More players = more chances of being reported' - For some types of hacking maybe ur right. For marduk/instanced hacks this is not the case. This is the kind of hack i was on about when comparing the.de team to the UK team, as i have a ton of friends as well as my own account on both servers. Also your last sentence is what i'm trying to get through as the problem.
They hack on low level accounts, if you ban one, they will simply create a new one. The team has to come up with a solution to deal with this in a different way, or actively pursue them.I don't have the tools necessary to spot, nor follow up on the hackers. If i see a low level hacker and send it in, hes already done with that account by the time you receive my ticket, having sent the rewards over to a different account through exploiting certain bugs. They are aware of the issue, although its not getting any better.I'm talking about what i see happening every day. If you're currently not active then maybe it is difficult to realise, but things have changed a lot.Not to mention. As for the other kinds of hacks, they do get reported.
But it's kind of late when they have already hacked and achieved what they wanted to achieve. They don't care about the accounts they hack on, like you previously stated as well. What blows my mind even more is the fact that gameforge still haven't pushed more for another hackshield update. The current hack thats being used has been active for several months already which is kind of sad.Oh yeah and i do agree with the first thing u said. Although i experienced being treated the other way around already ^ But i'm mainly referring to the 'Hackers' problem, which the thread is about.I'm starting to see why people before me gave up on the forum pitching for this game. I've written so many posts on the forum, and i'm never being heard ^^ I'm actually trying to point out the issues here, but they seem to just be neglected or excused. As you can see, i did not mention any names from the team.
But somewhere something has to start, sadly i don't have the power to do so.PS: An answer from Rock or a GA to the points being brought up in this thread would be great. My puns aside, why don't GF recruit new GMs if we got such a problem monitoring players? Also it is known (personal experience once again) that atlrast one GM (no names) is leaking info avout other people's bans.I am sure they will be happy to take more GMs.I'm talking about what i see happening every day.
If you're currently not active then maybe it is difficult to realise, but things have changed a lot.Not to mention. As for the other kinds of hacks, they do get reported. But it's kind of late when they have already hacked and achieved what they wanted to achieve. They don't care about the accounts they hack on, like you previously stated as well.We are well aware of issues. Also no way trying to minimize how bad it is. And thank you for all those who are participating to report them. Just to let you know, I was in many bow instances when I saw hackers, but unfortunately we cannot kick them out quickly without giving evidence.
The reason is, it would be good for this case, but then there will be other cases, where the player population would say that the GM is abusing power for no reason and some one will rally to kick that GM out. Some times even the player population prevents us from doing our jobs as well. There are many reasons why we cannot act on impulse. This is why there are rules in place. So, maybe some of you should apply for a GM spot and see for yourself. Put me, flame and biz i charge and lets dee who's laughing, i am pretty sure we'd get the proof we need swiftly and stupid fast with the powerfull gm tools,WTB watersong's banhammer, we stopped seeing watersong, we stopped hearing people getting banned. Where are you now when we need youu water?I'm pretty sure you would too.
If you were an active GM then it would only need about half a minute of your time to get the proof and ban them in the act.The biggest problem is that nobody sees what goes on in Marduk, otherwise it would be easier to report hackers. In a way this really should be less of an issue since the server merges. If people were to hack at like 3am in the morning in UK then rare for people to be on, but since we have GM's from NA now, we should be able to cover most of the day with a GM.Yes granted, GM's are volunteers. But as Flame correctly points out, if you never turn up to a job, you're not really doing it.I don't think any blame can be placed on the GMs really, it's the higher ups who don't give a flying firetruck. If I could do a job and never turn up would I take it? Answer: YesOk, let's consider this scenario. I have somehow scammed/stolen gear from Nelly. Monster monpiece download. You are a GM - you get a ticket from her explaining the situation. Surely you can assume they know they are doing this on purpose?Do you.(a.) Keep on investigating the tickets, with 1 in 100 actually proving to be correct.(b.) Give the player a warning that he is ruining the game for fellow players, as well as wasting.valuable. GMs time, and proceed to ban them if they continue to do it?I'm starting to see why people before me gave up on the forum pitching for this game.
I've written so many posts on the forum, and i'm never being heard ^^YOU ONLY JUST STARTED TO REALISE THIS?!?!??!
