The action starts where the first game ended, in the Russian city Romansbourg. In this installment the main characters are Kate and Hans who are accompanied by the mechanical Oscar. This time Kate decides to follow Hans only because of her personal reasons and she lives behind her family matters, work etc. She becomes his companions and she helps him uncover the mystery of the mammoths. Misc.The greatest change in comparison to the first installment – except for the story – is the quality of the graphics. The game became much livelier and the gameplay dynamics were increased. Many new graphics effects were added, including dynamic shadows and animated snow.

The action takes place in completely new locations (mostly in open space) and the surroundings aren’t as empty as before. There are more people and side characters to encounter (including more than 25 humans and 10 animals). There are more dramatic scenes as well.
